Bytown Museum

March 28, 2015 -

Just a short walk from McGee's Inn (Bed and Breakfast) is the Bytown Museum? This small, three-floor museum is an Ottawa gem, tracing the history of the city’s earliest years to its emergence as Canada’s sophisticated capital. Learn about Ottawa’s lumber town past and about the construction of the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This museum is worth a visit just for its location, as it is housed in the oldest stone building in the city, adjacent to the first eight locks of the Rideau Canal system!

This is just one of the museums that you can walk to from McGee's Inn (Bed and Breakfast).  Take a few days and visit many of our world famous museums. Stay at McGee's Inn (Bed and Breakfast) of course and enjoy the history of our building and its ancestors - The McGee's
